The Executor (ig'zekyutur)

http://www.633main.com/dev41.htm About five years ago I worked for a major consumer goods company. Having only a few road blocks, and being very successful in my life, I only expected to become the CEO of this company within five years :). When I started my entry level position, I asked my manager to show me the executive path to CEO, then she laughed. (Bless her heart. Now I laugh!) After I realized I was in the wrong department to become CEO, I then began to map out my career. I became the top rated employee in my position, and maneuvered my way from R&D to Brand Marketing, the area of the company that produced every CEO since its inception. Then it happened. I went from a top rated employee to a bottom rated employee within three months. I am certain my race and cultural background played a part, but for the first time in my life I felt incompetent. I allowed my managers to define my success and personal value. This wasn't my first road block in life, but to me, it was my biggest. After another three months, I went to a training session for "Black Managers" where I learned my unique situation was a recipe for failure. My mental health began to decline so much, that I could not make it to work until I studied, prayed, and meditated with God for at least an hour. I found that God was the only one who could give me peace. While studying, I came across this saying that rescued my self esteem: "My will is omnipotent, when it is God's will." I then planned an exit strategy, and six months later I started my own company. I still refused to give myself the title of CEO, just merely "owner" or "operating member." I promoted God to CEO. He tells me what to do, and I try to do exactly what He says. This weekend we celebrated 5 years, and I promoted myself to a new position: Executor of His Will. Leaving the company hasn't been easy. (I no longer receive huge direct deposits on the 28th of each month.) But since then, my business has become successful by God's standards and my life has a greater purpose than becoming a CEO. I know "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." I now have omnipotence (all power) through God's will and my self esteem could not be higher. Today I ask you to join with me to a greater and higher position within the company - Executor of His Will.
