Understanding the Threat of Radical Islam 1
published May 17, 2007 12:00
Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum may have lost his congressional seat in the last election because he campaigned against the rise of what's known as Islamofascism. It wasn't a popular stance, as Santorum spoke in frank terms about our nation's enemies, calling them "Islamic fascists" instead of using the more generic term "terrorists." Santorum says it's critical that Americans understand the true nature of our enemies. He explains the differences between the Sunni and Shi'a branches of Islam and why the radical adherents of each denomination pose a dire threat to the West.
"We are fighting a war against Islamic fascists, people who use Islam to support their fascist ideology of wanting to control the world." -- Rick Santorum
