Drupal Theming Application
published Feb 26, 2007 05:00
Yahoo, one more week talking about making your Drupal CMS website look pretty. Aren't you excited? Yeah, me neither.
But, making a good looking site for your ministry is crucial...so unfortunately, those stock themes aren't always gonna cut it. On today's podcast, we start with talking about how, even if it's not the best idea to use Stock Themes right out of the box, you can START there. We hope to help out those of you who aren't very CSS-inclined by giving some tips on how you can start with a pre-made drupal theme, and then make it your own by tweaking colors, changing images, or getting your feet a little wet in some CSS code.
Then we proceed onto the more geeky territory: Building your own theme from scratch. We talk about starting in photoshop, visualizing your site, and exporting the necessary images. (oh, and we don't waste any time railing against those folks who are slicing up photoshop docs or using too many images in their site...sorry!) Then we move onto chatting about laying out your page.tpl.php and your style.css files.
But, before we venture into all this Drupal stuff, we talk about the new face of Atheism, Richard Dawkins book "The God Delusion", The Blasphemy Challenge, and how we, as Christians, should react to this stuff...it's a complex topic, and we'd love for you to weigh in. Hit us up here with your thoughts.
