End of the Spear

Greetings one24worshipers!

I want to take a moment to encourage each of you to mark this Friday, January 20th, on your calendar. It is the day that the feature length movie, "End of the Spear" opens nation-wide in theaters.

The movie is a dramatic feature film based on the true story of the documentary film, "Beyond the Gates of Splendor."

"End of the Spear" tells the story from the perspective of Mincaye (a Waodani tribesman from the jungles of Ecuador) and his encounter with five young missionaries - Nate Saint, Jim Elliot, Ed McCully, Roger Youderian and Pete Fleming. The missionaries were speared to death by the Waodani on January 8, 1956 - exactly 50 years ago this month!

Afterward, a series of events unfold to change the lives of both the slain missionaries' families and the Waodani people.

Here's the thing:

For any movie, opening weekend is such an important time. A movie's entire future can depend on how well it performs at the Box Office from the start.

Mart Green (CEO and Founder of Every Tribe Entertainment) writes, "We hope that by making "End of the Spear" Number One at the Box Office during opening weekend, January 20th, we can all make contact with our culture, and affect the content of Motion Pictures in the years to come."
